Covid-19 Updates

April 8th – Update for Patients

Following recommendations from the American Dental Association, The U.S. Centers for Disease Control, Department of Homeland Security, and the Citywide “Stay at Home” Order, our office will be closed until April 30th (which is subject to change), in response to the spread of the coronavirus disease, COVID-19, across the country.

The CDC recommends using “social distancing” whenever possible as an effective way of decreasing the likelihood of transmitting coronavirus. The agency has updated its definition of social distancing to mean “remaining out of congregate settings, avoiding mass gatherings, and maintaining distance (approximately 6 feet or 2 meters) from others when possible.”

With This Advice In Mind, We Are Implementing These New Steps In Our Practice:
– We will schedule emergency appointments to minimize possible contact with others and ask that only one parent or guardian accompany the patient into the office. You will be taken to a private treatment room and the temperature of the patient and the parent guardian will be recorded. In response to the spread of the coronavirus, we ask that our reception room remains empty at all times. You might be asked to wait in your car until the doctor and assistant are ready to see you for a dental emergency. Please follow all instructions closely and call our office at 708-799-3030 for more information.

– We are making video conferencing available to some patients who are able to be evaluated via smartphone, tablet or laptop computer equipped with a camera and we are actively reaching out to those patients who qualify for a tele-health visit with one of our specialists.

Dear Grant Orthodontics Community,

Your health and safety have always been our number one priority at Grant Orthodontics. As the concerns over Coronavirus (COVID-19) continue to increase, we want to be sure you know we are following local, state, and federal guidelines closely to ensure the safety of our patients and team members.

To ensure the safety of our patients, communities and dental team members, Illinois State Dental Society recommends the following measures that align with Gov. Pritzker’s mandates to limit the spread of COVID-19 through dental offices for the two-week period beginning Tuesday, March 17.

  • Treat only patients requiring emergency dental procedures.
  • Postpone elective dental treatment and procedures.
  • Preserve personal protective equipment (PPE) for emergency dental situations. This action will also preserve the limited supply of PPE so it can be used for urgent and more complex medical care that will be needed in our healthcare system.

Rest assured, should you experience a dental emergency that needs immediate attention, please contact our office at 708-799-3030. A smile specialist will guide you on the proper measures to take.

We thank you for your patience and understanding during this extraordinary time. Please continue to follow federal, state, and local guidelines for remaining safe and healthy. It is our top priority to keep you updated with any changes or information we receive regarding the current COVID-19 developments via email and social media. If you have any questions, please call our office.

Wishing you and your families safe and healthy days ahead,

Dr. Lisa H. Grant & the entire Grant Orthodontics Team
